Day 1:Arrival in Fes – Guided City Tour

Welcome to Morocco! An experienced driver from Private Moroccan Tours will pick up you from the airport to transfer you to your hotel/Riad. After check-in meet a local of the city to show you the magical Fes Medina, one of the largest and most wondrous cities in the Arab world. You’ll see important sites such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Qarawiyyin University (the world’s oldest), the Tanneries of Chouara and the Bab Boujloud Gate. Get lost in a labyrinth of small alleys, chaotic souks and craftsman dens. Relax over dinner at a traditional Moroccan riad this evening.

Day 2:Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert & Camel Trek (470 km | ~7.5 hours)

In the morning, drive south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. If you like, stop in Ifrane, a pretty town with houses in an alpine style and clean streets, thereafter, head on to the cedar forests of Azrou, which are home to wild Barbary macaques. Pass by Midelt, a charming town at the base of the Atlas Mountains. We will make a break for a delicious lunch in Er-Rich. Next to the stunning Ziz Valley with its date palms and traditional Kasbahs.

In late afternoon and you’ll be on the edge of the Sahara and ready for your camel caravan in Merzouga. Roll over the golden sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi and end the day with a spectacular sunset at your luxury desert camp. Have dinner under the stars with a good meal of traditional Berber food and be entertained by local Berber musicians.

Day 3:Merzouga Desert Exploration – Local Culture & Village Life

Start your day with a peaceful sunrise over the dunes followed by breakfast at the camp. Today is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region and its cultural treasures. Visit Khamlia village to hear the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music, and meet nomadic families living in traditional tents. You’ll also explore nearby oases and the volcanic landscapes around M’ifis. Enjoy a local lunch maybe even try the famous Berber pizza. Later, return to your hotel in Merzouga for relaxation or a sunset walk on the dunes. Overnight stay in a charming desert hotel.

Day 4:Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley (280 km | ~5 hours)

Wake up early to see the sun rise and to create the perfect postcard photo, then have breakfast and a much-needed shower, later leave back to the village by a camel or 4×4. From there you’ll head to Rissani, an old desert town with traditional souks and historical weight it’s also the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. Next, Travel through Erfoud with its fossil workshops and date production.

The way takes us to the imposing Todgha Gorges, an incredibly deep canyon that runs for several hundred meters along the Todgha River with cliffs over 300 m in height. You’ll have some time to walk at the gorge, take pictures and have a leisurely lunch. The afternoon’s drive is through the Dades Valley with spectacular sights, such as the beautiful kasbahs and countless amounts of terraced farms and winding roads. In the evening you’ll stay in a relaxing guesthouse or hotel in one of the valleys, where you can enjoy a quiet night and unwind the local way.

Day 5:Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech (320 km | ~6 hours)

After breakfast, continue along the scenic route through the Roses Valley and Skoura Oasis, dotted with ancient kasbahs and lush palms. Arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where many famous films were shot. Visit the Atlas Film Studios or Kasbah Taourirt if time allows. Next, explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages, known for its unique mud-brick architecture. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the twisting Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), taking in panoramic views. Arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech in the evening.

Day 6:Marrakech Sightseeing – Transfer to Airport

On your last day, delve into Marrakech’s cultural gems. See the Majorelle Garden, the stunning Bahia Palace and the famous Koutoubia Mosque. Find a maze of life in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square where snake charmers, storytellers and souks come alive. Your guide will drop you off at Marrakech Menara Airport according to your departure time, that would be the end of the 6 Day itinerary Morocco.
