Your 11 Days in Morocco itinerary starts after your arrival at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, you will be met by your driver or tour coordinator and transported to your hotel. Depending on what time your flight arrives, you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, and take a saunter along the Corniche. Tonight is at leisure to rest and prepare for the road ahead.
After Breakfast, Depart from Casablanca Heading to Chefchaouen with a stop in Rabat which is the Capital of Morocco. While in town for a break, visit landmarks like the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah des Udayas overlooking the A Bouregreg river. We then continue our scenic drive north to the Rif Mountains, arriving by late afternoon at the tranquil blue town of Chefchaouen. Check into your riad where you can spend the evening leisurely taking in the beauty of the medina’s blue-washed streets.
Just after breakfast we leave the tranquility and nice scenery at Chefchaouen to colorful city of Fes. En-route, take a guided tour of Volubilis; an ancient Roman city filled with mosaics and archeological remains. Afterwards, we make our way to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, get to explore monuments such as Bab Mansour, El Hedim Square and the Royal Stables. The afternoon will take you to Fes where you will check in at a riad inside the medina.
Upon completion of breakfast, embark on a guided exploration of Fes el-Bali, the oldest and most genuine medina in Morocco. Pay a visit to landmarks like the Al Quaraouiyine University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Chouara Tanneries, and the Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts & Crafts. Meander through narrow winding streets containing craftspeople and shops that have been in business for centuries. In the afternoon, be sure to visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and see the neo-classical gates of the Royal Palace. Spend another fabulous night in same Riad.
The journey begins in the Middle Atlas Mountains and goes south towards the Sahara. You will pass through the picturesque, Swiss-style town of Ifrane before entering the cedar regions around Azrou, Midelt comes next, a town with lush trees that is perched on one side of the Ziz Valley. The only thing missing among all these greens is a water buffalo herd grazing lazily.” Later still, in the afternoon, we will arrive at Merzouga, on the edge of Sahara. Mount your camels and cross the golden dunes to reach your desert camp, have dinner and some wonderful moments, get ready for tomorrow’s adventure.
Begin your day early to witness that magical desert sunrise. After breakfast you will start an explorative journey of the area, get to visit the oases, with a stop in Khamlia (village of Gnaoua) you will have the chance to hear a little concert of gnaoua music. Meet local nomadic families, later visit the seasonal Salt Lake along with various fossils area in Mifiss. In the afternoon, head back to Merzouga and check in to a lovely desert hotel or riad with dune views.
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 for breakfast. Afterward, begin the drive through the desert landscapes, passing through Rissani and Tinghir on your way to the dramatic Todra Gorge. Take time to walk beneath the towering 300-meter cliffs before continuing to Boumalne Dadès, where you’ll spend the night in a charming kasbah overlooking the valley’s unique rock formations.
In the morning, you will travel through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Kalaat M’Gouna – known for its roses, and Skoura’s lush palm oasis. The next stop is the renowned Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has some of Morocco’s most splendid examples. In the afternoon, cross the breath-taking High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass urgently heading down to Marrakech by night. Relax at your riad for the evening after a long and beautiful day.
Today is dedicated to discovering the colorful city of Marrakech with one of our expert local guides. You can stop by the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs.
